Copper Plate Shaping and Measurement Process
Accurate measurements of the shikhar were taken, and detailed designs were prepared. Copper sheets were shaped and embossed based on the temple’s existing architectural and marble carving patterns.
Application of Gold on the Copper Frame
Pure gold was applied to the embossed copper sheets using the traditional indigenous mercury method, ensuring durability while preserving sacred craftsmanship and purity. This meticulous process gave the shikhar its divine finish.
Installation on the
Shikhar
The gold-plated copper panels were carefully installed on the shikhar with secure structural fittings. Completed in September 2018, the Suvarna Shikhar stands as a symbol of collective devotion and timeless faith.
The Suvarna Shikhar of Ambaji Temple was created entirely through public participation under the guidance of the Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust. With contributions of gold and monetary offerings from devotees, the temple’s main shikhar was transformed into a timeless symbol of purity and divine light. Crafted using embossed copper sheets and gold-plated through the traditional indigenous mercury method, the Suvarna Shikhar was completed on 17 September 2018—standing today as an eternal expression of faith and devotion.
